Tau Metalli was launched to the market in 1981 at Palazzolo S/O due to the strong will of Mr. Francesco Vignoni, Giulio Vignoni e Gianbattista Dossi. At the beginning the company had 700 sqm and it was run by three people. As time went by, the company needed more space, so it was transferred to Castegnato, having a warehouse of1250 sqm and 12 employees in 1985. In the 90s the development was important and the premises that were enough to that moment started to be really small, that is why a second move was needed for a better change. It was then when the third headquarter was built. Tau Metalli had at that very moment an area consisting of premises, offices and green areas, a 16,000 sqm track of land, including a 7,250 sqm warehouse and a 700 sqm space for offices.

The company became larger and Tau Metalli after 12 years of existence had to take a decision, either going on trading non ferrous semi work in general or specialize on an item. The company mission is clear, the board decides to change the core business radically, concentrating mainly and overall on selling aluminium for mechanical purposes dropping in this way the sector referred to profile in aluminium for making buildings.

2004: The year for a turning

The company distributes aluminium on a special way, it grows and as time goes by gets a high level as far as quality, range and volume are concerned, everything is done both at a national and an international level.

Experience counts, sales are accomplished with excellence, quality of service is well-known, the best suppliers in the market are chosen , but space for premises is still not enough. Tau Metalli runs the ball once more and launches a challenge pointing to logistic automation, creating two warehouses completely automatic for stocking goods, (one for sheet and one for slab), placed at 80 km to the east of Milan in the centre of the best industrialized area in Italy.

The structure, completed in 2004, developed to a 46,000 sqm Out of which 23,000 sqm were premises and 2,000 sqm were offices. By then there were 50 employees , 23 devoted to production and 28 working in the commercial and administrative sector. Only for the automation of the two warehouses an amount of 3,500,000 euros were invested, achieving a really modern system for dealings. 25 years of experience are the best guarantee for customers, that experience lets Tau Metalli have a professional competence in the international markets. Every single person who works in our team is aware of the importance of what explained before, consequently tries hard so as to get an overall control on quality and finishing of the products when sent to market.
